Electrolysis

There are three types of Electrolysis:

Thermolysis

Destroys the hair by coagulating the papilla through the use of heat produced by a high-frequency current.

The Blend

This type mixes both thermolysis and galvanic methods.

Galvanic

Destroys the hair by decomposing the papilla (the source of nourishment for the hair) by the means of chemical action produced by the galvanic current.

There are Three Hair Phases:

Hair grows in cycles of various phases: anagen is the growth phase; catagen is the regressing phase; and
telogen, the resting phase. Also, the cycle's length varies on different parts of the body.
Anagen phase - The anagen is the active growth phase of hair follicles. The root of the hair are dividing rapidly, adding to the hair shaft.
Catagen phase - The catagen phase is a short transition stage that occurs at the end of the anagen phase. It signals the end of the active growth of a hair.
Telogen phase - The telogen phase is the resting phase of the hair follicle. This hair begins to shed.

How it Works

When you first come in for your free consultation we will go over the areas you wish to treat. A sample patch may be done to see how your skin reacts and help you better understand electrolysis. This is done by the insertion of a tiny probe into the hair follicle that we want to treat. A gentle current is released to target the root and all germ cells and destroy the hair completely. The hair will lose its grasp and slide out after treatment. A slight inflammatory response may be observed. Nothing to worry about it will go away usually within a few minutes to a couple hours but may last as long as 24 hours, depending on skin sensitivity. Treatment scheduling is flexible but it is best to clear the desired area of hair as soon as possible. A consistent schedule is needed to treat all hairs since not all follicles are active at the same time. Intervals between treatments will be based on our clients needs and expectations.
